“Miniature art is one of the significant fields in the centuries-old history of Azerbaijani art. This art developed primarily in the 11th-12th centuries as an illustration of Eastern poetry. Many themes are depicted in the miniatures: scenes of hunting and battles, court entertainments, portraits of kings and aristocrats, as well as poetic plots taken from the immortal works of great figures like Nizami Ganjavi. During the creation of the table design, the artist was inspired by a scene of a musical gathering at the palace. Guests and musicians gathered around the young prince. They bring fruits and various dishes in beautiful porcelain vessels. Azerbaijani miniature art, forming an interesting and rich part of the arts of the Near and Middle East, holds a unique place in the history of world art.”
